Jacob, for his Erin, wanted something truly special. All round. He picked Rome, the Eternal City, to declare his forever love, and, for his surprise proposal, went for one of the most iconic landmarks, Castel Sant'Angelo. A surprise proposal photo shoot in Rome, to be truly special and intimate, has to start early in the morning. You have the added benefit of enjoying a gorgeous and diffused light. Jacob understood this, and and went for it. We all met on Castel Sant'Angelo Bridge on a beautiful and chilly Christmas Eve. Erin knew she was going to meet a photographer that morning but little did she know she was in for a big surprise too. After Jacob got my thumbs-up, he got down on his knee, declared his love to Erin, and asked her to marry him. What an honour for me to be part of such an intimate moment of two very special people. After the proposal we shot a few more images around Castel Sant'Angelo and went for a very rich and rewarding breakfast before heading for Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Before heading for the Pantheon, from Piazza Navona we did a little detour to Campo de' Fiori, a square famous for its fruit and vegetable market, rich in photo-ops. We wrapped up this beautiful and very romantic surprise proposal session at the Pantheon.
Castel Sant' Angelo Bridge is a gorgeous and iconic location for a secret proposal photo session
He was amazing. The experience was very personal since he reaches out well beforehand the shoot to discuss what the goals of the shoot are and how to best them. He was very flexible with the time and didn't press us down to the second when we went a little over our time so he can show us a spot that wasn't originally part of the plan that ended out working great. His eye is very experienced and that is evident in the photos, and his knowledge of the areas in Rome helped us capture some photos in locations that I would have otherwise passed by without knowing they even exist. He was very friendly and gave us some good food tips while we were out as well. His response time after the shoot was un-rivaled by any experiences I have had with photographers. Within two days I had pictures I could share on instagram, and before the vacation was over I had the photos in my e-mail. He was definitely a pleasure and I would definitely recommend his services to anyone. If I could, I would have him be the photographer on all the travelling vacations I do he is honestly that amazing to work with. His english is also impeccable making it very easy to discuss ideas for the photo shoot, and even though I only intended to take photos of the proposal in Rome and then other engagement photos when I got back to the states, the quality of the photos he took took our breath away and they will now become our engagement photos as well take up some living room wall space when we frame them. Would not go to anyone else for a photo shoot, well worth every penny.
