Elliot chose Rome for his proposal, and in particular the Orange Garden at sunset. No wonder. The view is both magnificent and breathtaking, as you can see the Dome of the Saint Peter's in the background. Not to mention the beautiful paleochristian basilica that is adjaicent to the garden. Elliot was absolutely certain that his Isabelle would love it. And he was right. In fact, they'd spent the better part of the afternoon exploring the Aventine Hill, including the famous keyhole, from which you can see the Vatican.
Once the couple arrived at the garden, I surreptitiously followed them everywhere they went, until, finally, Elliot picked a place for his proposal to Isabelle. It went beautifully, so much so, we decided not to go for the re-enactment photos. We all liked the pictures so we decided to carry on and get some close-ups of the dazzling ring and continue shooting until the garden closed. We wrapped up our photo shoot with a few shots just outside the entrance, next to a very old fountain.
The Orange Garden at sunset is one of the most iconic locations in the Eternal City
